Loads of people are sending cards to this autistic teen who celebrated her birthday alone

Hallee Sorenson spent her 18th birthday alone when none of her friends showed up.

THIS IS HALLEE Sorenson, an 18-year-old from Maine who has autism.

The above photo is from Hallee’s 18th birthday party last year – she celebrated alone when none of her friends or classmates showed up.

In a Facebook post that’s been shared over 186,000 times, her cousin Rebecca Lyn said that Hallee is a “funny, sweet, caring” person who never let the “small detail” of her autism define her.

She had been so excited to have a party with her friends. She wanted to go bowling, have fun, and eat cake and ice cream. Invitations were sent out to her classmates at school and to other friends in the area… but Hallee’s friends would never arrive.
I would love to flood her mailbox with birthday cards, from all over! Hal loves getting mail – this would be the best birthday gift she could ask for. If you could find it in your heart to take a few minutes out of your day and send her a card, I would be forever grateful.

“This would mean a lot to her mother as well, for as you can imagine, watching your child cry into her birthday cake breaks your heart,” Lyn wrote.

Sure enough, the cards started pouring in, with people all over the world pledging to send Hallee something for her birthday.

See, people can be nice. Cards for Hallee can be sent to this address:
